Your Stories
Were you here for the Blizzard of '77?
Between January 28 and February 1, 1977, the storm buried cars, stranded strangers in each other's homes, and gave everybody in Western New York a story they still tell. For the 50th anniversary in January 2027, we are telling that storm through the people who lived it. That means you.
Our goal is 50 stories banked by December 1, 2026, one for every year since the storm.
Most stories reach us right where they happen, in the comments and messages on our episodes, and we always ask permission in that same thread before anything is used. The form on this page is the second step, for when you would rather write it out in full.
What happens to your story
- We read every submission.
- Stories we use become episodes in the anniversary series, and may also appear in our posts and a possible future book about the storm.
- Your name appears only the way you choose below: full name, first name and last initial, or no name at all.
- We never sell your information, and we never share your contact details with anyone.
- Changed your mind? Email us any time before your story is published and we will pull it, no questions asked.
Share your story
Tell it the way you remember it. Short is fine. Details are gold: the street, the sound, who was with you.
